Jerry joined me aboard on Monday June 10th. He had the boat all to himself and was visiting San Diego from Taiwan. He had experience fishing and wanted to try a bit of everything - offshore, inshore and bottom fishing. We started our trip heading straight out west in search for Bluefin. We hooked up and Jerry fought a 60-100 pound bluefin for over 30 minutes, taking him around the boat 4 times. I provided assistance when needed. This bluefin wouldn't budge and the hooked pulled out. Jerry had a blast fighting the big bluefin but knew his arms needed a break so we headed inshore. Jerry was rewarded with a yellowtail, some rockfish and a lingcod, all released per Jerry's request. Great day on the water with a great guy. Looking forward to our next trip in September. Thank you Jerry for choosing Pelican Sportfishing!

I had a great group of guys on board who wanted to target only yellowtail. Coronado Islands was the perfect place to be. We landed the first fish within 15 minutes of being at the Islands and had a steady bite all day long. The seals put on a good fight and we ended up landing 8 out of 17, with the jackpot being a solid 18 pounder. These three anglers were stoked! It was a fun and exciting day, the sun made an appearance which was a nice change with the recent June gloom. These anglers took home a bunch of delicious yellowtail to fill their freezers. They'll be back again in July for more! 

Another fun day with a great group of four from up North. Headed offshore to hunt for Bluefin and after a short time out there, the group decided to head in for some bottom fishing. With one passenger experiencing sea sickness, they preferred to find a spot to drift rather than continuing the hunt. I totally understood and was happy to adjust plans. Ended the day with a lingcod and a few rockfish. The group had fun and plans to return later in the summer for another fishing adventure!
